5 Years of Beers!
Here is where our story starts. With a dream of building a company to build community, Kevin found an overlooked hundred year-old building in Winnipeg’s historic exchange district. This old livery that once held horses for city hall is given a new life and a company (of believers) is assembled.
And then came the beer. 1919, The beer that started it all. A revolutionary classic. Easy drinking and full of flavour, it is a balance we are proud of.
Some may have questioned building a brand around one product, but we believe in our product THAT much. We brewed 1919 over and over again to create a beer that is good by any standard. We now take the same intention and precision and apply it to craft every new beer we add. Now with a lineup of flagships & seasonals, we love having new offerings for you to try, knowing you can count on quality & flavourful LBJ brews.
We learned a lot from brewing and canning 1919 over and over. We apply that same intention and precision to every beer we now make. As we expand our production and offerings, you can continue to count on us for quality & flavour in all our brews.
Little Brown Jug makes and sells beer. While we're at it, we work to make things better for our team, customers, and community. Each of our staff make up the pristine beer machine that is LBJ. Every year we are here, we get to push the limits of what a brewery can do for our community.
We want our employees to be proud to work here and our customers to be proud to drink here. We invest in our people. It is important to LBJ to be a workplace that is positive, respectful, fun, and inclusive. When we look at this team full of ambitious, dedicated, and uplifting folks, we could not be more proud.
"I started LBJ with the goal of building a company to build a community. It was never meant to be about me. I wanted it to be its own thing made from the ingredients that surround it. YOU are part of Little Brown Jug and our story, our customers, our partners, our employees, our suppliers, our neighbourhood, city and province. We’re invested, bricks-and-mortar, in this place, with you." -Kevin Selch, LBJ Founder.
We are proud to make our wind-swept prairie town all more delightful, interesting, and cool. In this way all of us service industry businesses, we are city building; we are building the community we want to live in.
